Flag of LiberiaFaith brings a wealth of public service experience and more than 25 years of political and government expertise to the table. During a three-year rotation with the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) Peacekeeping, Faith functioned as the Chief for the Resource Mobilization and Trust Fund. Her work included providing direction and advice for the UN policy on Peacekeeping Quick Impact projects; establishing effective working relationship with central government agencies and local government officials to identify and prioritize projects for funding; and promote overall rehabilitation and reconstruction of communities and provide employment for women and former fighters. Her work in Liberia, Africa speaks volumes of what she has accomplished.  Dr. Harding was credited for initiating several programmes of change which aided significantly and helped in revolutionizing the economy of Liberia. As a result, it helped in pushing the country to the forefront of social and economic development in the African continent.

In her opinion, her most notable personal accomplishment was resolving a conflict between a village and a cannibal who was responsible for eating 42 people during the tribal wars in a small village in Liberia.

During a three-year rotation with the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) Peacekeeping, Dr. Harding functioned as the Chief for the Resource Mobilization and Trust Fund. Among the duties that Dr. Harding was tasked with was providing direction and advice for the UN policy on Peacekeeping Quick Impact projects. She was also responsible for establishing effective working relationship with central government agencies. Dr. Harding’s role did not stop there as working along with local government officials to identify and prioritize projects for funding also formed part of her responsibility.

Added to those, Dr Harding also worked to promote overall rehabilitation and reconstruction of communities and provide employment for women and former fighters. In commenting on her experience gained while in Liberia, Dr. Harding said; “In moving forward, I not starting from scratch. I am happy to say that I have a proud record of progress on which to build”.

She was praised for the enormous work that she did while in Liberia that resulted in progressive change. It was through her progressive change that caused the people to embrace her work and is now seeked to advise many international agencies on governance and policy.

Dr. Harding’s work has been viewed by many as resulting in taking so many people of Liberia from a condition of poverty and landlessness to a position of strength through empowerment, education and wealth creation; progressive change that continues to help in the transformation of the Liberian economy.

This, many believe will aid in helping the country to becoming a full-fledged competitive service economy thus ensuring that it will bring even more wealth and opportunity to the people there.
