I would like to congratulate Dr. Faith Harding on successfully launching her local presidential campaign at the Square of the Revolution entitled, ‘The Awareness Jam’. It is indeed refreshing to see that the Square of the Revolution filled once again with Guyanese from all walks of life enjoying both the revelry and the serious messages that formed the two main pillars for the event held.

Faith Harding barred from GDF Old Year's Ball

Faith Harding barred from GDF Old Year's BallPresidential candidate hopeful of the main opposition Peoples National Congress Reform (PNCR), Faith Harding on Thursday announced that she has been blocked from attending the Guyana Defence Force Old Year’s Night Ball.

She said that it was the second-in-command of the GDF who told her that she would not be allowed to purchase tickets for the event.

Harding related to the media that the high-ranking military officer had relayed the message from the Chief of Staff, Commodore Gary Best that now she is campaigning she would not be allowed to attend the Ball.

“This is the sort of immaturity that Guyana needs to get over,” she told reporters after hinting at her exclusion from the event in her remarks to launch her campaign office.

GECOM to spend $$millions on registered letters for uncollected ID cards

Office of the Elections CommissionsThe Guyana Elections Commission will be spending GUY$6 million to post registered letters to 59,000 persons, who have not collected their National Identification Cards, urging them to do so.

An official of the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) said the registered mail will be dispatched early in the New Year.

The letters, which will be signed by Chief Elections Officer, Gocool Boodhoo, will be sent to the various registration centres for the names and addresses of the registrants to be included. The letters will then be taken to the nearest post office for dispatch.  Elections Commissioner, Robert Williams told a public meeting organised by the Faith Harding PNCR Presidential Candidacy campaign that 20,000 of the uncollected cards are for persons in Georgetown.

Dr Faith Harding to kick off campaign in Washington

People’s National Congress Reform ( PNCR) presidential candidate hopeful Dr Faith Harding will kick off her campaign in Washington on December 18, she said on Tuesday. At the event, Dr Harding will be raising funds to support her campaign. Dr Harding will be battling other contenders, including economist and former Finance Minister Carl Greenidge, Brigadier ( retired) David Granger, and attorney- at- law and parliamentarian Basil Williams.

Former Government Minister of Guyana pleased with hospital decision: Bajan Reporter exclusive from Rawle Nelson

PNCR presidential hopeful, Dr. Faith Harding has expressed satisfaction and commendation to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) for what she calls ‘bold steps’ in their dismissal of convicted child-sex felon Dr. Vishwamintra Persaud. Dr. Harding acknowledged the fact that Dr. Persaud was given a license to practice in Guyana, was employed by the GPHC and the revelation that the Minister of Health, Dr. Leslie Ramsammy has admitted responsibility for employing a convicted felon further points to serious deficiencies within Government and in particular with the Ministry of Health.
